Jim Mora says Michael Vick is a ‘good man’ and says Bruins shouldn’t buy into hype

UCLA coach Jim Mora joined the show to talk about the upcoming season and his former player in the NFL Michael Vick.

Mora said he’s rooting for Vick to have great success with Chip Kelly and the Eagles.

“It’s been a good career that has at some points been disappointing,” Mora said. “My hope for Mike is that we can say at the end of this we can say it was a great career.”

Mora said he knows Vick well and thinks he’s come a long way. “He’s a good man,” Mora said. “He’s a good person. He’s trying to walk the right path.”

Mora also said he doesn’t want his team to buy into the preseason hype.

“We beat USC late in the year,” Mora said. “It was a Heck of a game. People got a little too excited. We lost our last three games. … In order for us to win any hype, we gotta go win those big games, tough games on the road.”

Mora had an update on his star linebacker Anthony Barr. He was dinged up in practice yesterday, but Mora said it’s minor. Mora wanted to note that he takes head injuries very seriously.
