Dustin Pedroia shares his true height and discusses differences from last year with Red Sox

Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia joined the show to talk about their season and more. Here are some of his takes:

— Dan asked him to clear up controversy about his size and weight. Pedrioa said it’s “5-8, 165” and don’t believe anything else.

— Pedroia said he never watches a home run because he hits line drives and almost always thinks double.

— Dan asked if he thinks about how the media was all over the team last year and doesn’t focus on them this year. “I don’t think about it,” Pedroia said. “I don’t think any of the guys think about it. I think the guys that were here last year will never forget about what happened last year. We’ve learned from it. It’s made me a better leader. It’s helped us. Taking it into this year and learning from it. All we want to do is win ball games and play for each other.”

— Pedroia talked about how much respect he has for Derek Jeter: “He’s one of my favorites. Everything he does is first class. I’ve learned a lot just watching him.”

— Pedroia talked about the “Muddy Chicken” nickname and said there are a lot of names we don’t know about.
