MLB commish Rob Manfred on growing sport, Pete Rose, pace of game

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred joined the show to talk about a wide variety of topics he’s dealing with in his new gig.

Manfred talked about how he wants to focus on growing the sport. He said the key factor to get young fans is make sure they played the game, so he’s focusing on youth sports.

Manfred also talked about Pete Rose and said he hasn’t had a chance to really dive into it yet.

Dan asked Manfred about the pace of game. He said “What it’s about is removing delay from the game that people find particularly entertaining that’s not relevant to the competition on the game.” He said that they can pick up the pace and be successful and still have games take the same amount of time.
